About  the Artist

Tracey Luttgens  CPP, GFD GSD

Our Photographer, Tracey, has always had a passion for the arts and studied  Art History, Photography & Graphic Design while in college in the early 90's. She began working as a professional photographer in 2000 and was primarily an infant, child, and family portrait photographer from 2001 to 2011.

In addition to the arts, she's  always had a love for animals, whether they have fur, feather, fins or scales.   Over the years she has shared her life and home with dogs, cats, parrots, small rodents, reptiles, fish and enjoyed hanging out with many barnyard animals from her relatives' farms.

Prior to moving to Georgia, she volunteered at Brookfield Zoo (part of the Chicago Zoological Society and rated one of the top 20 zoos in the world) and was selected to work in the Hamill Family Play Zoo area, entertaining & educating children as well as adults on many of the animals on exhibit.

To further her understanding of behaviors and assist in the photography of dogs, she became a  certified dog trainer in 2013,  a skill which has been valuable for both her and  her clients.

She achieved her Certified Professional Photographer title from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), a distinction held by fewer than 150 photographers in Georgia, with half of them being her esteemed friends. She is actively pursuing her PPA Master of Photography and ISAP Master of Animal Imagery degrees. Additionally, she has been awarded the Georgia Service and Fellowship Degrees from the Georgia Professional Photographers Association.

On a more intimate level... she is an Aquarius who adores the theater and has a passion for singing. For 28 years, she has been happily married to her husband, Jim, who not only is her best friend but also an exceptional studio assistant. Together, they revel in exploring new destinations, savoring delicious food, and indulging in exquisite wines!

Heart Spot is named in memory of their first child, Harlequin, an energetic Dalmatian. The heart-shaped spot on her chest serves as both the name and logo for the studio.

They now share their home with two cats, Bodhi and Mojo, as well as Pixie, a mix of Rat Terrier and Chihuahua, who captured their hearts during her "Adopt Me" Session.
